Our Story
Why we started Selara.
Selara began with a simple belief. Technology should remove complexity, not add to it. We’re a small studio that holds its work to an exacting standard and stays selective about the problems we take on.
Today we point that standard toward the public sector, where clarity is hardest to come by and the stakes are highest. We’re building Selara to serve government missions openly and accountably, with modern engineering at the core.
Selara is Veteran-led, and built by people who have spent years inside federal technology. We have carried cloud, security, and AI all the way to production. We started Selara to bring that work together under one standard, and to point it at the missions that need it most.
AI-Native
We were built AI-native.
Selara was built AI-native. AI is part of how we research, design, write, and ship. It is not a feature we add at the end. It clears the busywork so our people spend their hours on judgment, craft, and the parts of the work that need a human.
This is what lets us move from idea to working prototype in days, and from prototype to production without losing momentum. It is also why we stay clear-eyed about what AI can and cannot do. We build the evaluations and guardrails that prove a system before anyone relies on it. We keep a person accountable for every decision. We never let speed stand in for care.

Selara is Veteran-led. Our founders have spent their careers building for federal agencies and for the Veterans who depend on those services. We know what it takes to ship inside real mission constraints.
We are gov-forward by choice. We hold our work to the standards public missions require, and we are honest about where we are on that path. We never claim a credential before it is true.
